Marketing creates healthy competition
It is plainly obvious to us that you are pulling information from the Digital Signage Universe Directory (You would not have gotten this email address any other way) in order to build your own Directory. While we can’t prevent you from doing this, we would strongly recommend that you make your directory “significantly” different from ours, otherwise we will shove a lawyer so far up you’re a**, you wont s*** for a year! Don’t say you weren’t warned, we are keeping a close eye on you!
Best Regards,
Digital Signage Universe

I’m in my mid twenties and have only been in business for a couple years. However, there is one thing that I’ve already learned about the grand scheme of business - competition.
Competition is healthy for consumers. Through competition they receive higher product quality, lower costs, and greater variety. I’m a consumer as well as a marketer. I love getting a good deal. I love getting good quality even more. As such, I always try to provide good deals and better quality in the products I market.
Competition is healthy for the business world too. It creates a necessity to innovate new products, increase quality of operations and cuddle up a little closer with your consumers.
Because I feel so strongly about competition and the necessity that marketing create even further competition, the above email really came as a shock to me. A friend of mine, Nate Nead, who is putting up a digital signage information website (www.digitalsignage.com) received this email after he sent out an email asking for professionals in the digital signage industry to advertise with him.
If you read the comments in Nate’s post, you’ll see that my feelings are not un-echoed.
The bottom line:
Fight tough. Marketing your products creates healthy competition for your competitors. Don’t be afraid to compete.
Also, be aware that they will compete with you. It will be healthy for you if you can roll with it fast enough.
